The theme chosen for this edition of the exhibition is “EcoSolutions for Everyday Design” and it is perfectly suitable to the present need of using technology and innovation in order to create eco-compatible and eco-sustainable solutions aiming at preserving a better environment for the coming generations. Both Finland and Italy have strong design-driven companies: a meeting introduced by HE Alexander Stubb, Minister of Foreign Trade and European Affairs of Finland, will focus on how to take advantage of complementarities between Italy and Finland, strengthening their competitiveness in global markets. “Collezione Farnesina Design” is a propelling centre of initiatives meant to support and underline through design both creativity and Italian entrepreneurial capability. Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the Collection is Paolo Pininfarina, whose company stands as a real icon of worldwide design. The curators – Angelo Capasso and Renza Fornaroli – took care of the selection of works exhibited and of the valorisation of young designers: this is how the Collection becomes a benchmark and a concrete cultural, entrepreneurial and scientific bridge. Lately the exhibition has been hosted by the Olympic Games in Vancouver, the FIFA World Cup in South Africa and at the Kadir Has University in Instanbul, and will be showcased in London for the Olympic Games 2012.
