i.lab Italcementi Exhibition Event | Parco Scientifico – Tecnologico Kilometro Rosso | Bergamo | Italy | Gothìk by Giancarlo Zema for Origami Furniture

With a concept of simple perfection, the architect Giancarlo Zema has created Gothìk, for Origami Furniture. It consists of an innovative modular system for trade fair stands with 3x3x3m base module consists of few self-supporting elements in 2cm thick recycled, self-extinguishing cardboard. Each module can be erected in few minutes by only two people and without the need for any screws or glue. It offers a countless number of possible configurations with virtually endless repeatability. The furnishings too are made from recycled cardboard with the possibility of two-tone colours and customised graphics. The exhibition has been located in the new i.lab Italcementi Research Center, it is not only an iconic Concept building but expressing the Group’s reputation for technical expertise; it is a benchmark for sustainable design in Europe. A work of art in typical Richard Meier style, i.lab is an element of extraordinary architecture, extraordinary style and construction techniques, the result of exceptional technical and scientific skills combined with sophisticated engineering.
