The Safety Islands are small infrastructures for the Smart Coasts of the future, to be placed on beaches to support lifeguard services. These hubs are dedicated to coastal monitoring and first aid on beaches and at sea, and are completely self-sufficient in terms of energy. The generation of clean energy, obtained with specific photovoltaic and wind systems, allows for the charging of internal technologies as well as monitoring and rescue drones and aquatic drones. The project is the work of the Giancarlo Zema Design Group architecture firm, internationally renowned for its eco-sustainable and highly innovative infrastructures. The Safety Islands, with an internal surface area of 20 square meters, are equipped with a first aid room with a bed and basic medical supplies. A small Vertistop is located on the photovoltaic roof for the take-off and storage of drones for coastal monitoring and the transport of life-saving medicines. Outside, ready for use, are a defibrillator and electrically powered, automatically controlled aquatic drones, capable of quickly reaching and rescuing people in distress at sea. The Safety Islands are produced by the American company eVertySKY, specializing in Urban Air Mobility, in partnership with ABZERO for the monitoring and transport of plasma and life-saving medicines via drones and with Safesea for sea rescue with aquatic drones.
