The first eco-sustainable floating HUB is born in Rome, it is called FloHUB – Ecosustainable Floating Events by Barcheria, located on the Promenade of Japan in the EUR lake, one of the most beautiful and modern districts of the capital, built to host the Universal Exposition of 1942, today home to important executive offices, the La Nuvola Congress Center and the Fendi headquarters in the Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana. The FloHUB floating structure of 50 square meters on one level will be used as an exhibition area on the water, temporary events, coworking, meetings, information point, etc. Designed with an iconic and organic design by the architect Giancarlo Zema, known for his eco-sustainable projects, it will use recyclable materials (steel, wood, glass) and adopt “Green and Smart” technologies to make the structure energy self-sufficient. In fact, the large photovoltaic roof will generate the energy necessary for the needs and will be able to move silently on the water, thanks to an innovative electric hydro-jet.
